OUT OF AN ALLENTOWN ATTIC
2010-02-18
We recently were contracted to auction the complete contents of an Allentown estate. There were two generations of treasure packed into this home. Some of the most desirable items came out of the attic. These items had not see the light of day for decades. This “Ring a Ling “ toy was one of them. Collectors appreciated the good condition, it Sold for $1,150.
Two phone bidders took charge and bid this “Chamberlain” painting to $4,500. The painting was consigned by a Manhattan doctor and purchased by a Ohio collector. We have been fortunate over the years to create demand for our services in the Big Apple. Many of the larger auction galleries in the city have little interest in auctioning items that sell between $50 and $5,000. We are happy to fill the void.
