1939 Cadillac LaSalle Touring Sedan Model 5019, Suicide doors! Does it get any more stylish in antique cars? You are sure to turn heads pulling up in this special vehicle. The trademark high and narrow grille of the LaSalle brand and the touring sedan silhouette are timeless class. LaSalle’s were a lighter and sportier companion car to GM’s luxury leader Cadillac. The first LaSalle was designed on a easy handling 120 inch wheelbase by Harley Earl, who was also the head designer of the brand new for 1953 Corvette. The brand ran from 1927 through 1940. The late 30’s recession and WW2 would bring it’s demise. This particular car was completely restored in the early 2000’s including a complete rebuild of the Cadillac sourced 322ci V8 engine at around 66,000 miles. The original, numbers matching, engine still only has a couple thousand miles on it since the rebuild. The clutch for the 3 speed. 1940 Cadillac LaSalle Special Sedan, This is the final production year for the LaSalle brand! That fact is sure to add value to your investment in this vehicle! You will turn heads with the trademark high and narrow grille of the LaSalle brand. And it was ahead of it’s time being painted in todays hottest new car color to boot! LaSalle’s were a lighter and sportier companion car to GM’s luxury leader Cadillac. This car is equipped with a 322ci Cadillac V8 and 3 speed column shift transmission. The first LaSalle was designed on a easy handling 120 inch wheelbase by Harley Earl, who was also the head designer of the brand new for 1953 Corvette. The brand ran from 1927 through 1940. The late 30’s recession and WW2 would bring it’s demise. Although the paint is starting to show it is an aging restoration there is little to no rust, just some very minor undercarriage surface oxidation. We are told the car drives and functions as designed. Besides a few weeping oil seals and the minor underbody surface corrosion, there are no glaring trouble spots inside or out. This vehicle was well loved and ready for its next caretaker to drive her as is, or give it the extra finishing touches she deserves. Comes complete with numerous books, manuals and the obligatory inch thick binder of notes and receipts, even an original brochure! . Odometer and title both show only 14,000 miles! Buyer pickup at the above location will be emailed to all successful bidders will be Wednesday June 28, 2023 and Thursday June 29, 2023 from 9am-4pm and Friday June 30, 2023 from 9am-12noon. Cars may have an alternate pickup date that will be arranged with the sellers.
